Arrange the ChickenPlace the chicken thighs in a single layer at the bottom of your slow cooker. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the top, making sure every piece is coated.
Slow Cook to PerfectionCover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 3 hours, until chicken is tender and easily pulled apart with a fork.
Thicken the Sauce (Optional)About 30 minutes before cooking ends, whisk together cornstarch and cold water, then stir into the sauce. Cook covered until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
Serve and EnjoyTransfer chicken to a serving dish, spoon sauce over the top, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve over rice or noodles.
Notes
For a balanced flavor, add a small splash of rice vinegar or lemon juice before serving if you find the sauce too sweet.
Chicken thighs work best for tenderness, but breasts can be used with slightly reduced cooking time.
Leftovers reheat beautifully and are great for wraps or rice bowls.
